Day 151 More furniture

Yes..another piece, a kitchen metal hutch that we placed in our entrance to display all our creations. That motivated us to look at some of the pieces we had and passed them on. All this took up a lot of time so, today I made another pair of adorable earrings.

Day 150 Memorial Day

Day started with a trip to Best Buy to return the non-functioning Wii  and I thought it was going to turn into a hot mess. Apparently it makes no difference that you bought a warranty that claims that if your game brakes it will be replaced with a new one, the rules changed therefore the warranty changed. Anyway long story short, in 2 weeks I will have a refurbished wii.
Had to carry my reading glasses with me, and they just got so dirty cause i kept on putting them on my head, in my hands , sister's pocket so I decided to make a necklace for them.

I also made a couple more earrings, just because.

Spent the afternoon with the parents so I had a chance to take a couple of sunset shots.

Day 149 Finishing things

Finished the living room area, and now I need to get a table top  for my dining room. Studio section is done too, but still have to find a home for every single piece of art supply I have. Not an easy task as I like to hold on to things.

Day 148 Re-arranging

A neighbor gave us furniture that she needed to get rid of. Her mom passed away recently and she decided to put the place up for sale/rent so it needed to be emptied.  We loved the pieces as they are practically new.

With the new couch in, we decided to use the old one in my bedroom , in the studio area so we can stop messing the living room :)

Now we have to re organize all our supplies but  finally the studio area is DONE!
So going through all these things I found  a pisces and taurus pendants from the beaded clock I had created at the Art Institute that got damaged in the last move. I turned them into earrings.

Day 147 Long weekend ahead.

It was nice to leave work early. I do have some showings tomorrow but after that... looks like I will be re-arranging things at home. Yep time to get rid of the old.

Day 146 It's been 20 years.

Today was the 20th anniversary of my YiaYia's passing. I was the first of her grandchildren so I always had a special place in her heart. She was a teacher and was so proud when I became one too. She passed away a week after I finished college and one day after my graduation party. She had lived a full life and died happy.  Even though I know that she is still around and she visits me often in my dreams, I still miss her as badly as I did that first day her physical presence was gone.  I still remember the day in '87 when we went back to Greece and the whole village came to kiss her hand because the best teacher was back... I can only hope that I, in my life get to touch as many people as she did with her caring, smiling fave and kindness.

Today I added  earrings to my crystal necklace plus made it a bit longer for me. I think I will wear it tomorrow at work to be sparkly!

Day 145 Strange occurances

Monday morning I had  a weird dream, where I kept on getting message on text, email, vm, phone, and people whispering in my ear to remind my manager at work that I have Wed off. It happened at least 15 times. So I went to work and told him, that I was to remind him that I have off on Wed. We thought it was funny. Then yesterday the dream continued and I was told good job for telling him I had off. I thanked whoever told me that, and said I am not questioning the reason (as the last time something like this happened and I didn't listen I got badly injured) but if they (I couldn't see anyone just knew someone was there) could tell me what was going to happen if I didn't take the day off. No one said anything but someone placed pieces of Amethyst in my hand.

So I took the day off, and had a inspiring day, uneventful otherwise. Which is good. 

Ok on the creative side. I sketched a bit and then got started working on my zodiac stamp designs.  My friend has a stamp maker, so I am going to design my own! Here is the the first one I worked on. 

Talking about my bad luck with electronics, my laptop can play dvd's but won't let me even open manually my adobe photoshop disk. I guess I will first draw all my stamps and by the time I am done I will have photoshop on this to make everything crisp with slightly thicker lines. 

LOL ok.. now my phone crashed for the 3rd time while attempting to send the sketches... So this is it for today.

Day 143 creative juices

I had this ugly chandelier that I found in my parents place when they first moved in. I used it for a few years and then took all the crystals thinking I will do something with them. Almost 8 years later I took the first step. Here is what I did. I need to make it a bit longer for me, but was perfect on my sister.

Day142 Under the weather

Stayed in bed forever, fell asleep on the couch and ended up missing the auction event...  I am not too happy with myself right now.
Today I decided to try to recreate a beaded bracelet and to see if it could also hold up as a choker. It worked. but it was a test one and I used thread for the main part and elastic for the rest.. and would have worked better if it was all stretchy.

Day 141 Survived the Rapture of Judgement day

Yes... along with the whole planet.
The show went smoothly and we had a wonderful time.  I sketched a vase with a flower during some down time.

My Camera kept on acting up. I thought it was because the flash is not working and was interfering. Then I thought it might have been the battery. It ended up being the disk. The camera  was acting as if there was no memory disk in it . I somehow managed to make it work and snapped the above shots.

Day 140 Getting ready

Completed last  domino Zodiac rings for tomorrow's show.

Hand stamped dominoes , colored in  and topped with an epoxy/resin top for protection and long lasting wear.

Day 138 Bye Bye Wii....

At least for using it for games and my beloved zumba.  The driver is shot and it will cost more for me to fix it than buying a new one. *sigh*  So I will have to make a priority list again to see where do I want my liquid funds to go to...

An Ipad drawing as I spend most of the evening trying to fix it with my MIT. We replaced the lense... and nothing. At least I can still watch my netflix on it so not everything is lost.
